The Biggleswade Barnacles are Biggleswade's very own sea shanty group.

We meet on the third Tuesday of the month (between 8.00pm and 10.00pm), at The Bigg Theatre in Biggleswade, to sing sea shanties and other traditional songs. The rehearsals are led by Simon Bailes but the emphasis is on group singing. All are welcome to join in and release their inner sailor.

No experience is needed. Song sheets will be provided. Those that fancy leading a verse or two will be given the opportunity to do so.

Our mission is to sing songs and to enjoy ourselves!

How Much Does It Cost?

The shanty sessions at The Bigg Theatre cost £4.25 per session per person. To help with keeping track on payments we ask that attendees pay for six months sessions in one block (six sessions - £25.50 in total). This includes all music and lyrics and the hire of the Big Theatre for our practice sessions.

The six session blocks run from July to December and January to June each year.

If you are joining in the middle of a session, let Simon know and he will sort out a payment pro-rata until you are in line with the six monthly schedule.

Payments can be made by clicking the button below. Anyone wanting to come along to a rehearsal, to see if they are going to enjoy it, can do so without paying for their first session.
