Letchworth Settlement
Sea Shanty Workshop - 2nd April 2026
Simon Bailes is leading a workshop at The Letchworth Settlement on Thursday 2nd April between 10.00am and 12.00pm. It is an opportunity to come and learn a handful of sea shanties and to learn how they would have been used on board merchant sailing ships in the nineteenth century.
No experience of singing or sea shanties is needed and all lyrics and music (for those that can make head or tail of the dots) will be provided. All of the songs will be taught by ear so no need to read music.
